HYDRODIFFUSION (PERCOLATION)

The most modern method is a fast, technologically simple, not requiring complex equipment. Hydrodiffusion occurs as follows: a stream of hot steam passes through the plant, which lies on a special grating. The resulting liquid is a mixture of water and essential oil, cooled. As mentioned above, when mixing water and essential oil, the separation process is simple and natural.
In general, the method is very similar to the distillation method.

By cold pressing, only citrus essential aromatic oils are obtained. And some basic (Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, Olive oil). Aromatic substances obtained by cold pressing, retain all the useful properties, because the raw materials are not subjected to heat treatment. The rind of citrus fruits (small sections inside the rind) are filled with essential oils; just squeeze it with your hands, squeezing the fragrant liquid. This is the easiest way to practice yourself. Thus, in ancient times, the essential oils of Bergamot, Grapefruit, Orange, Lyme, Lemon and Mandarin were obtained. At the present time, of course, created a special combines for pressing. Whole fruit or citrus peel (pre-mixed with water) is pressed, after which the oil in the juice emulsion is centrifuged.
